My Night With George : A Punk 50th Birthday Reading

A few weeks ago, My Night with George found its voice at The Cockpit Theatre.
I originally wrote this play with a specific energy in mind: the raw, rebellious spirit of Punk 50th birthday. It's a story about looking back whithout flinching.
Watching a fantastic cast bring these words to life was a profound experience. They didn't just read the lines; they inhabited the room with such honesty that they brought tears to my eyes. It's one thing to write a scene in solitude; it's another enterely to hear it breathe through other people.
The room was filled with an intergenerational audience, and their warm welcome meant the world. But perhaps the most valuable moment was the Q&A that followed. The questions were sharp, curious, and alive. Listening to the audience's reactions and the actors' insights helped me see new corners of the play. It deepened my relationship with the work in ways I didn't expect.
Thank you to everyone who came, listened, and shared that afternoon with us. My Night with George feels a a little more complete now.
